I expect this hasn't changed for ages, but I found it confusing as a
new user.

If you're editing node label text and type ^Z then Leo saves the label
with its changes and then undoes the previous action. I would have
expected the label edit to be undone instead - i.e. save the label
then undo the save.

Geoff

Yes, I know this is confusing, but it probably will never be fixed.  There "official" reason is that editing a headline is an all-or-nothing matter.  The behind-the-scenes reason is that the headline code is amazingly complex, due to the abort-edit-headline command.  This command does what you want...

I posted an analysis of this problem in the following post. It
appears that any changes to a node's headline are not stored in the
history of changes until another node is selected. If you want to
undo an edit to a headline, move to another headline before using the
'undo' command.

See my replies in the "Undo appears to be broken" posting at

Yes, quite recently I see. I'd assumed that this was long-established
behaviour and worth only a cursory search in posting history but that
discussion illustrates the original problem, describes Edward's
changes and shows the residual behaviour very clearly. Thank you.
