Hello Guys!!

I am new bee with Linux. So this might sound a little bit stupid. When I installed Ubuntu, I can't find it on the top right corner of desktop. Instead the Bluetooth device is shown. How can I install Network Manager Applet in Ubuntu. Therefore, I can't connect to internet. How can I fix this.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Dhruba,

this is a LaTeX Users Group, not Linux Users Group. Take a look at Ubuntu lists.

Dear Bruno,

Many thanks for pointing that out. I meant to send this mail to Linux user group. Since both the group names are almost same, it was sent in this group by mistake. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and hope it won't happen again.

With warm regards,
Dhruba

No problem...we all had to start somewhere.

What is "it" in this context? What have you installed? 10.4 or 10.10? And on what hardware?

Ah. This is installed for you automatically if you connected to the network when it asked at the time of installation (or if you had a wireless card and there was an active wireless network available). If you installed without using a connection, then there is no network set up and you have to add the first one manually.

Click on System | Preferences | Network Connections and set up your primary connection (wired or wireless). Once that is established, the applet icon will appear and won't go away. You can then use it to add more networks if you have access to them.
