Hi,

I've been using k-9 for a few months now and I'm very satisfied. It's
great that an open source email application of this quality exists.

Recently I added a new imap subfolder to my account. I cannot see this
new subfolder when I try to move/copy on k-9, no matter how many times
I hit the refresh folders button.

Under Account Settings -> Folders -> Move/copy destinations folders I
have "all"

This problem occurs with 3.604 & 3.801, on a samasung galaxy s running
stock froyo firmware

Any help would be appreciated

Please enable debug logging and record a log
(https://github.com/k9mail/k-9/wiki/LoggingErrors) while refreshing the
folder list.

There are two cases when folders on the server are ignored:
a) The folder name is "OUTBOX" (case-sensitive)
b) The folder name is not correctly encoded with the modified UTF-7
variant RFC3501 describes

I don't think I have any of these problems - the new folder is called
"IT.Spam Check". It seems to me that when I press "Refresh folders" in
the menu of the folder list presented while trying to move a message,
nothing happens. I am no expert in reading the logs, but I think the
log will show it also. I pressed "Refresh folders" somewhere between
4:43 to 4:55 in the attached log. I'm sorry I just pasted in here
since I found mo way to attach a file.

Go to the folder list with the colored bars/checkboxes at the left,
press the menu button, select "Folders", then "Refresh folders".
You can't use the folder list that is presented to select a target
folder for a copy or move operation to refresh the folder list from the
server.

Yes, this did the trick. Thank you!
Maybe the refresh folders option should be removed from the folder
list that is presented to select a target folder for a copy or move
operation if it does nothing ...

Once again, thanks for k-9 mail. As a contributor to several (other)
open source projects I know and appreciate the amount of time that
goes into these things ...

Hi cketti (or anyone else ?),

Is there a solution to synchronize the sent folder when its name is
"OUTBOX" on the server ? Or is it impossible ?

I think it was possible in march when I installed K-9 mail. Perhaps it
changed with one of the last versions ?
I am now in 3.802 version (in french), and "OUTBOX" folder does not
appear in the list of folder indeed, and thus I can't choose if for
the "sent" folder of K-9 mail.

Thanks in advance
Bertrand

As stated before: the folder "OUTBOX" on the server is ignored. That is
because the local folder K-9 Mail uses to store messages that need to be
sent is named like that internally. It is displayed as "Outbox" or the
localized version of that in the folder list.
You probably shouldn't name the Sent folder "OUTBOX" as this name
implies it contains something that has yet to be sent.

In the future we will probably rename the internal outbox to something
that is more unlikely to clash with existing folders on the server
(maybe something along the lines of K9MAIL_INTERNAL_OUTBOX).

It did.

Thank you for your quick answer.
I hope this future is near... because I can not change the name on my
provider's server
However K-9 mail is very good, so I keep it on my tablet, and I thank
all the developpers.
