Attaching another version of the JVF membership roster. This one is probably older (I'm not sure from when exactly) but includes names - it's from the ibiblio site. Unfortunately everything later than that seems to have been lost when the site that hosted it went bankrupt... I wasn't sure exactly what format to send you this data, so I'll provide links here for something and you can let me know if there is any other way I can provide this data that will be more convenient (I'm quite proficient with programming and scripting, so I can convert it to almost anything): You can fetch the following four files: http://nadav.harel.org.il/pub/jvf-1996-2012.tgz http://nadav.harel.org.il/pub/jvf-1996-2012-another.tgz http://nadav.harel.org.il/pub/jvf-2012-2017.tar http://nadav.harel.org.il/pub/jvf-roster-sept-2017 The first two files are two versions of the JVF archives between 1996 and 2012. One of them came from the ibiblio site - including all the directory structure and images and attachments and everything, I think the other one is just text. The third file is the JFV archives between 2012 and 2017. This came from different software, so has a different format, and also includes both text and attachments. The fourth file is the membership roster from September 2017 (unfortunately I don't think I have anything newer), so if you want to contact people who used to be members in JVF and invite them to the new mailing list, this might be useful. Next thing I'll try to see why the website jv.gilead.org.il stopped working. I also have a backup of its content from a few years ago, and since it hasn't changed since my father passed away, it should be complete. I'll put a copy of that too somewhere and let you download it. Thanks, and I'll be happy if you point me to the new homes of these archives, mailing list, site, or whatever you create. Sorry I haven't been able to be more helpful in maintaining my father's legacy :-( On Fri, Feb 12, 2021 at 1:16 PM Nadav Har'El wrote: Sorry it's taking me longer than I thought, I am preparing now the JVF archives from 1996 to 2017 (I don't think I have later than that.....) and will send it later today, and then can get to work on the content of the site... Several of us in the Jules Verne community have been trying to reach out to you to get information on whether we can resurrect your father’s valuable website, which I know the files are currently homed at ibiblio.org. The domain pointing to that site expired and it is no longer valid. Andrew Nash has a copy of some (if not all of the site) but we don’t know if he had the latest files. Do you still have access to the files at ibiblio? If so, can you zip up a copy of the site and send the files to us? Or grant someone in the community access? I’ve seen where some of the files may all be located, because the NAJVS site is als hosted on ibiblio, but your dad had them under some kind of source control and I have no idea where the images are stored. And of course, there is the Jules Verne Forum, which stopped operating sometime in 2019. Is the data from that forum recoverable at all? Garmt de Vries-Uiterweerd and Ariel Perez have created a new Jules Verne Forum as a Google Group, but we would love to gain access to any of the previous communications. Hi, I'm very sorry about that... I'm pretty sure I do have a copy of all the files in my father's website, and a copy of this historic forum archives up to some point (maybe not the discussions of the last few years, unfortunately). I'll try to look for it and get back to you later today or in the next few days.
