KUALA LUMPUR, 12 November 2001:

The @my2001 Malaysia Internet Awards Night or Anugerah Internet
Malaysia sparkled with the warm smiles of winning participants when
the results were announced tonight for nine closely contested
categories.

President and Chief Executive of MIMOS Berhad, Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman
Shariffadeen, commented on the night's events by saying, "The winners
of each category outshone their peers who came from a diverse range of
companies and organisations –- offering a rich
representation of the Internet world."

"The Internet industry continues to thrive. In the short space of one
year since the last @my Internet Awards was held, we now see visible
improvements in terms of quality, creativity and excellence," he
added.

One of the leading categories eagerly anticipated by the evening's
guests was Most Popular Local Website, which was eventually won by
Star Publications (Malaysia) Berhad's The Star Online
(www.thestar.com.my) -- through sheer volume of page views
generated.

In the category of Internet Personality of 2001, Ahmad Fuad Ismail,
President of the Subang Jaya Municipal Council, was adjudged the
winner for his role in leading and espousing the use of the Internet
in many facets and applications.

The Council also won in the Laman Web Bahasa Melayu Terbaik category
through its website, www.mpsj.gov.my

Jobstreet.com Sdn Bhd through its popular site for job classifieds,
www.jobstreet.com.my, scored a repeat victory in the category of
Internet Company of the Year –- which it had also won last year.

Newcomer Kridaraan Komahan, 14, upstaged seasoned Internet players to
be named Best Netpreneur through his website focusing on herbs, spices
and pulses, www.citrastore.com.my.

Airtime Management and Programming Sdn Bhd, which owns and operates
Astro radio stations, struck gold with their entertainment website,
www.hitz.fm, in the category of Most Creative Web Design.

The Best Education Website was won by MyETutor.com Sdn Bhd with its
interactive portal www.myetutor.com.

MIMOS Berhad won in the Best Community Development Website category
for promoting the use and emphasising the importance of the e-learning
environment through its website, www.cikgu.net.

Malayan Banking Berhad convinced the judges to award Best Internet
Application Website to its financial portal, www.maybank2u.com.my.

Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman commented on the versatility of the industry by
saying, "The Internet has proven that age, background and experience,
can be mixed and matched to provide the best possible winning
combinations."

"Through the @my Awards, we hope to continually support and encourage
local Internet industry players, urging them to keep up the good work
and to strive for continued excellence," he added.
In closing, Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman thanked all the sponsors, guests and
finalists for their support in making the @my2001 Malaysia Internet
Awards possible.

The @my2001 Malaysia Internet Awards is co-presented by MIMOS and NTV7
together with quest7.com, and jointly organised by Star and In.Tech,
Kumpulan Utusan as well as Cisco Systems. Co-sponsors are Jaring and
Jaring Internet magazine.
