Any suggestions for a ladder for the back of a J/92? Does it need one?

I use a Plastimo emergency ladder in a bag - see the Ragtime! photo by
Lyons Imaging (the yellow bag is the ladder).

But if you want a chrome one like on the J/105, I'll sell you the one
I took off of my 92. It's in good shape but I'll have to find it.

Thanks for the information. We did check out the photo, and it's very impressive and helpful. How much for the  chrome ladder? (We're in Syracuse, New York so we would need to have it shipped from California, right?) We just sold our J/29 to upgrade to our J/92 and we can hardly wait for Spring to try her out on Lake Ontario!

Oh, not much - I'll look to see if there's anything like it on E-Bay
to get an idea. The hard part will be tracking it down. I have a
storage place near the boat with all my offshore gear, then more stuff
in the garage, etc. I'll start looking. I hope I saved the mounting
brackets.

Also, I'm sure it's not really "chrome" - that wouldn't be good on a
boat. More like polished stainless.

So you bought Zippy? Is it close by where you can tinker on it over
the Winter, or do you just have to wait?

We have the boat inside a big garage at Joe's office right now, so Joe has been able to paint the bottom, refinish the wood floors, wax the boat after taking off the letters for Zippy, and take out the cushions for reupholstering. The building is for sale, however, so we plan to move the boat up to a field near our Selkirk Yacht Club for outside winter storage. Joe is waiting for the new lettering to be ready so he can take off some of the wax and apply the new name, J Hawk. Our SYC does some amateur fun racing on Lake Ontario, but no other J/92's around. We'll be sailing for fun recreation, and racing for fun against some J/29's and some J/30's as well as a variety of smaller sailboats. Our son, Ryan, likes to swim off our boats and sometimes drag on a line behind while we sail, so we figure a ladder is a good idea.
