Acacia for Id- 230112- NS1 frm Pune

Acacia photographed at Camp, Pune on 19th Jan 12.

It was a small tree. The stem was thorny. Leaves r double-compound, pinnae 13-18 pairs.
Flowers were green n yellow spikes.Fruit was  flat pod.

This should be Prosopis chilensis (Molina) Stuntz.

Practically this is Prosopis juliflora. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosopis_juliflora;    http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/ild-18491
The name P. chilensis is often misapplied to this as well as P. glandulosa, it seems (wiki).
