Dear All:
Ok ok... enough... since there is only one woman moderator... its
not saying much about me...if only numbers is the criterion...

But if MODERATORS are concerned without any further separation of
gender , Gurcharanji and Balkarji have contributed far more than me
this month or earlier or earlier or ever... and their case numbers
show for themselves... one need not count them... just marvel at their
depth and breadth of their botanical specimen submissions... My hats
off to both of you...

But I agree with what Gurcharanji and Madhuri just said...... I do
tend to want to get to the bottom or to the heart of the matter...
and honestly and in a straight forward manner... without being coy or
overly sensitive etc...and I like precision in words etc. sometimes it
comes across a bit too straight... but since I am not playing tricks
or have any chhal-kapat, nor do I have a secret agenda .... I am here
in this group because I enjoy studying, looking at and talking about
plants, ethnobotany and Ayurvedic Medicine, Western herbal medicine
and Gardening. AND I AM ENJOYING THE CAMARADERIE with most of
you.... And I dont mind sharing what I know, no use hoarding it ...
my MOM used to say more you share your knowledge spontaneously more it
comes to you and grows... Be a UDAAR DIL is what she used to say ...

You are nominated simply because of numbers and nothing else. It was on my insistence that we introduced the clause of 5 months vacation (gap) from nomination, otherwise myself or Balkar ji would have been nominated every month, and I had to curtail my participation to allow others being nominated, which I would have never liked. So we both are enjoying that vacation, and that leaves you for nomination for highest participation.

And yes, this confusion of yours was with Pankaj ji also temporarily today. On this group we don't have a gender distinction. We select all simply on the basis of merit. If winner happens to be man we call him eFl man and if it happens to be a woman we give her title of eFl woman. This is application of English grammar and nothing else. You have won it from among 22 moderators on your merit and not because of being the only woman among moderators.

Dear Prasad:

I am very glad you are incorporating suggestions and guiding into your write up...  you'll do very well in life... since you learned very quickly... and took it positively....

good write up is sooo very important for writing books, papers for peer reviewed journals and more important for writing and obtaining GRANT funding that a young pHD or post doc must learn to do this... your even Assistant professors, .... because attention to details must be in science, techniques, write up..etc...

when we put anything out in the universe... like a request for funding (ie grant) even before looking at the quality of our science, people who are reading the grant form ideas based on what and how the grant was written... and presented... and those first impressions color the way the grant will be graded and funded or not... or the paper will be accepted or not...

lets hope you do a very good precise book, reviews and papers in peer reviwed journals and get good grants...
