Sesuvium portulacastrum

Family: Aizoaceae (Ice plant family) 

Common name: Shoreline purslane

Local name: Bhaji cha pala

Very common in mangrove habitat and is one of the associate mangrove species. The fresh green leaves are used by local fishing community to make nice garama garam bhajjiyas.

commonly known as: sea purslane • Bengali: jadu palang • Marathi: धाप * dhapa • Rajasthani: lunio • Tamil: ஓர்பூடு orputu, வங்காரவச்சி vankaravacci • Telugu: వంగరేడుకూర vangaredukura
... * not sure of Marathi spelling.
