I am attaching the photographs of a  shrub ( ?)  for confirmation of ID.  The photo was taken on 27.12.2010 in Sakrebayalu, near Shimoga, Karnataka.    I have only one photograph.  Could this be a member of Annonaceae.

This is actually a Grewia species. May be G. tenax?

I think you are correct Nidhan Ji this plant also looks like Grewia tenax to me.

Yes this is grewia species but not G, tenex. 

Check the leaf shape

G. serrulata Swami ji - but it's described as a small tree and not a
shrub.
However, definitions apart, in the field it does / can look like a
large shrub.
