Nerium oleander L. Sp. Pl. 1: 209. 1753

Type: Lectotype : Herb. Clifford: 76, [BM]

This is one of the few taxa where both generic and specific epithet
means the same thing in english, i.e., OLEANDER.

Dinesh ji, beautiful flowers.  This is the host plant of the caterpillars of  Common Indian crow (Euploea core) butterflies.The caterpillar is able to tolerate the plant toxins and stores it in its fatty tissue and helps make the adult distasteful to predators.
