Habitat Loss..

we always read this, or talk about, but how and where does it directly affect Birds or Animals.. how?
There were many such questions aroused when I used to read such articles in papers or anywhere..

The number of Sparrows and Craws are going down, we cant see Sparrows near our home.. etc questions are also asked by many friends..

There may be many reasons for all this, but what little I can understand is Loss of Natural places and human interruption into each and every places..

Last to last Sunday I happened to go to a village near Rajkot, Seen two Laughing Doves sitting on a Hathala Thor (the one in pic attached),
Earlier we used to have boundries of Thor between two farms which now have been replaced by wire fence..

I fairly remember, Doves, Bulbuls, Babblers, Munias etc many birds used to nest in that fence, Rosy pastors always roosted in them.. Indian Robins and Chats always were found around those bushes..

Where would they roost, rest or nest now? on wires? Sadly they cant..

This is what is the root cause as per me for the decline of the number of "common" birds around us..

This is not only for Birds, even Jungle Cats, Mongoose, hundreds of Lizards and Lacks of Insects must have lost their Habitat..

Children of my age, at that time, always were waiting for those red fruits on the Hathla Thor, it was so juicy.. it was so risky to eat those fruit without proper care, there used to be very tiny thorns which we are unable to see from naked eyes, we had to take utmost care in removing them.. but the joy to eat that little fruit was so much attractive, we always took that risk willingly !! :)

all these questions were in mind, suddenly came out when I seen this picture I had got last Sunday..  See the colours of Nature, this is the most Colourful Season for us around the year !!

This was the thought process in my mind so thought to share with you all,

Again, wish u all a very Happy Holi !!

Have a nice time,
Regards,
Dhaivat..

Dear all,

Today I happened to go to Gandhinagar, Indroda area with Gaurang Pandya.

Seen many local birds busy in their daily activity, many of them will now start finding its partner and will nest soon, some of them must have done that already.. :)

Got this photo at around 10 today, when the sun was on top..

I somehow get so much involved when I see 'the common most' birds busy with their life.. There is nothing 'uncommon' or 'rare' in this photograph, neither the bird is rare...

Saw this Dove resting in the bushes, being frank, we were waiting for the bird to come out and so we can get a good photograph.. But i liked the situation as it was and clicked this..

When these days sharing Rarity and uncommonness is a daily routine for all of us, so thought to brake your routine life and share this as many a times I have seen people ignoring the birds who are around us..

The interesting part of this is, in last mail also they were Laughing Doves and today too its a Laughing Dove only!!

Happy Birding to all of you !!

Best Regards,
Dhaivat
