Artemisia vestita Wall. ex Bess, Nouv. Mem. Soc. Nat. Mosc. 3: 25. 1834

Erect shrubby perennial up to 2 m tall with grooved stems; leaves twice pinnately cut, fern-like, upper surface softly hairy, lower white hairy; heads nodding in long compound hairy racemes, 6-10 flowered, bracts oblong membranous; fruit smooth shining.

Common in Kashmir valley at lower altitudes on exposed hilly slopes. Photographed in August from zabarwan slopes above Cheshmashahi and from Dachhigam Forest.
