Thysanolaena latifolia (Roxb. ex Hornem.) Honda for you.

Locality: BSI Experimental Garden, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh (ca 500m)

Date: April, 2007

Local use: to make brooms.

Vernacular names:

Jhaadu-ghas: Hindi

Amliso: Nepali community

Taza: Nyishi community of Arunachal Pradesh

Kamgang: Adi community of Arunachal Pradesh

Eppane-Nani: Apatani Community of Arunachal Pradesh

Phool Jhadu: Assamese

This one is the same sps. C. maxima is a synonym now.
