Robust perennial herb rhizome, with one or two leaves at the base; stem nearly cylindrical with one or more clusters of reddish brown spikelets; spikelets ovoid to oblong, 8-12 mm long; perianth with 5-6 bristles; stigmas 3; nutlets greyish, compressed-3sided.
Grows in swamps and wet soils. Photographed from the banks of Ek Tal lake , Mornih Haryana.
