This is a tree laden with bunches of small flowers which are typically hiding below the leaves.
Someone in a neighbouring house said it had fruits like a sapota.-( could have been guessing.)
The tree is in a private residence in Mylapore, Chennai.
Please help me id it.

Thank-you Dr. Neil and Dr. Gurucharan. Yes, it matches the pics of Lepisanthes tetraphylla.
I seem to be running into Sapotaceae of  late ; saw a Chrysophyllum cainito for the first time last week.
There was a small ( 8-9 feet) pruned specimen of this tree at Agri-Horti garden but photogrphy is not allowed there. So I was lucky to stumble on this tree, seen over the wall of a cousin's house.
