Solanum capsicoides is a better option because of fruit colour and leaves. S. viarum has pale yellow fruits.

Dear Dr. Gurcharan Singh ji,
Last year I had posted pictures of fruits that are green , yellow
turning red and fully ripened red fruits. However what worries me is
the very few spines on the plant. in Mr. Raghu Ananth's pictures.
Going through your link, I find the spines are just like the spines in
my pictures, but the spines in the pictures submitted by Raghu Ananth
ji is different. The fruits are like Solanum Capsicoides when ripe.
However the ripe fruits in the pictures submitted last year by me also
has such red fruits.
You know Dr. Gurcharan Singh ji, I am a lay person, I may be wrong.
Regards
Yazdy.

Yazdi ji
To be frank, there is definitely some confusion in the genus Solanum, especially due to treatment of Indian Solanum indicum if eFlora of India and other treatments. Since you have interest in genus Solanum, and perhaps good collection, I suggest you coordinate one episode on Solanaceae. You may take time and choose month of your choice.

Dr. Gurcharan Singh Ji,
I really do not know how to coordinate. I have my limitations. If
anyone can do it, I can contribute the pictures from all over the
fields.

Yazdy.

I have strong doubts for this not being viarum.
Solanum has lots of issues even many hardcore taxanomists cant handle it....
Best wishes if you can contribute Yazdy sir...

I stand corrected, it does look like Solanum Capsicoides . Solanum
viarum has plenty of sharp spines on the leaves and stem. The leaves
in the pictured submitted by Mr. Raghu Ananth Ji is not having these
sharp spines. The colour of the ripe fruits, however of both are red
when fully ripe. I had submitted pictures of fruits of S Viarum last
year and they first turn yellow and then into red.
