Tabebuia rosea. Beautiful ornamental tree , common in Mysore city. Photos taken on 13.1.11. The flowers remain on tree unfaded only for a week (maximum). During this time it is a treat to eyes for the passersby.

Flowers are in terminal globose clusters and dark pink. It is most likely Handroanthus impetiginosus syn.Tabebuia impetiginosa syn Tabebuia avellanedae. The flowers of T.rosea are pink fading to white and the flowering season is Feb. March.
This tree is also flowering in Pune city at many places at present. Mostly the flowering has been observed in Nov and Dec but this year it was late. Dr Phadke
