Rakesh ji ... personally, such works are matter of pride on at least two counts:
1) flora of India is getting studied ... for study ... for awareness
2) the feeling that flora is getting regarded as much as fauna
... earlier (perhaps even now) popular feeling -- fauna = wildlife needs to get revised thoroughly.

I remember reading an article long back. It was based on similar lines
but the difference was the flora was being interpreted from some old
paintings. Like there is a very old cave painting of Buddh which
depicted some plant species too. So researchers tried to analyse what
those species could be....it seems like fun and really interesting to
me.

Rakesh Ji,
Saraca ashoka/indica are spreading trees while in this painting the trees are columnar.
