Tree from Bethua....

Hi
can anyone recognize these woody fruits of the tree?
they were seen in Bethuadahari forests of West Bengal...few days back. :)

... looks like mahogany ... species of Swietenia.

Shantanu ji ... do you think these are planted in the forests at select places rather than growing wild ?

Swietenia mahogani............. In Bengal these plants were planted by forest department log long back but sal is indigenous.

This is definitely Sweitenia mahogany. One can find this tree in
each and every road in Mysore city.
