  • SEE-duh -- in Greek, a type of water lily; although now a name for a type of mallow
    a-KEW-ta -- sharp angles; sharpened to a point

commonly known as: common fanpetals, ironweed, southern sida, teaweed, wireweed • Hindi: महाबल mahabal • Kannada: ವಿಷಕಡ್ಡಿ vishakaddi • Malayalam: മഞ്ഞക്കുറുന്തൊട്ടി maannakkurgunthotti • Marathi: बल bala, चिकना chikna, जंगली मेथी jungali methi, पाटा pata • Sanskrit: बल bala, पट्ट patta • Tamil: பொன்முசுட்டை ponmucuttai, வட்டத்திருப்பி vattatirippi • Telugu: నేల బెండ nela benda, విషబొడ్డి visah-boddi

Native: pantropical
