This link gives some fact sheet, & gave me some interesting information :
about malayalam name it is called Murikoodi, means wound healer;
 quick healer of fresh cut/wounds in malayalam Muri / murivu means cut or wound and koodika refers to wound healing. and same text  also found :
<http://www.keralaayurvedics.com/herbs-plants/murikoodi-hemigraphis-colorata-ayurvedic-medicinal-herbs.html>

Here:

where the member says it is a fish killer, coz it alters water chemistry when used in fish tank.

Courtsey: google search engine:

Also learnd that this is good as terrarium plant.

Appreciated the quick replies,

Malyalam name Murikoodi needs to be reconfirmed. I saw the Keralaayurvedics site where it is mentioned as  Murikoodi.
I searched on net. There is a google page in Malayalam https://ml.wikipedia.org/wiki/മുറികൂട്ടി.  It mentions the name as മുറികൂട്ടി मुरिकूट्टि.
Flowersofindia mentions it as  Malayalam: Murikooti.
I will be talking to few who have Malayalam as mother tongue to get the correct name.
