Eleusine corocana (L. Gaertn.) Fruct. 1: 8, t. 1, f. 11, 1789; Hook. f., Fl. Brit. India 7: 294, 1896; Cooke, Fl. Pres. Bombay 3: 561, 1958 (Repr.); Blatt. & Mc C. Bombay Grass. 260, 1935; Bor, Grass. India 492, 1960.

Synonyms: Cynosurus coracanus L. Syst. Nat. ed. 10, 2: 875, 1759.

Common name: Nagli, Ragi.

Ragi is the main food grain for many peoples, especially in dry areas of India and Sri Lanka.
