- AICRP, Velinakkara Centre - Kerala Agriculture University (Mannuthy, Thrissur) has published a bulletin on Common Weeds of Rice eco system (1998) by C G Thomas and C T Abraham.
This book, a kind of semi-technical in nature covers around 21 different common grass species and mentions 15 occasionally found species in Kerala state. Key identification characteristics, ecological features and importance are described with neat
illustrations from live specimens. (This book also covers 16 Sedges, 33 Broad leaf weeds, 3 ferns and an algae. topics like -purely rain fed upland rice (rice growing System) which are giving way to rubber and other commercial crops are also covered in detail). Family names, common English name, Malayalam common names, current scientific name of the plants are systematically written for each species. )
