Torilis japonica (Houtt.) DC., Prodr. 4:219. 1830
syn: Caucalis japonica Houtt.; Caucalis anthriscus (Linn.) C.B. Clarke; Torilis anthriscus (Linn.) Gmel.

Plants up to 70 cm tall; leaves 1-2 pinnate, segments pinnatifid to pinnatipartite; peduncle up to 15 cm long; Rays 4-10, hispid with linear involucre bracts; fruit ovoid, 3-4 mm long, covered with incurved spines
