Dear Subscribers,

I am writing to you from the Conservation Action Trust, a registered non-profit organization formed to protect the environment, particularly forests and wildlife.
Every year on the occasion of the Mahashivratri Festival (which on the 2nd of March this year), thousands of devotees visit the Sanjay Gandhi National Park from various points other than the main entry at Borivali these include areas such as Yeoor in Thane and Tungareshwar WLS near Vasai to pay homage.

The safety of the Forest and Wildlife are highly endangered on this day. The huge mass of people entering the park bring with them threats such as forest fires, dumping of plastic, bottles, leftover food etc is observed.

In order to curtail these problems and protect our wildlife and forest we involve volunteers at different locations of the National Park as mentioned above.

The volunteers will assist the forest guards, NGO groups and police in confiscating plastic bags, inflammable item, etc in order to avoid any harm to the forest.

I request those who would like to step forward to protect the National Park to kindly volunteer for this noble cause. To register you can contact Jinsy M. Joseph at (ji...@cat.org.in) / 22006114/116 or Georgina Fernandes at (georgi...@gmail.com) / 9820 246 588.

With Warm Regards,
