I am a bit confused. IPNI writes chinensis whereas Jarvis writes chinense.
I checked the protologue. Linnaeus wrote it as CHINENSE and so the
correct spelling should be as Dr. Gurcharan said. Please accept my
apologies.

Persicaria chinense (L.) H.Gross Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 49: 269. 1913.

Basionym: Polygonum chinense L. Sp. Pl. 1: 363. 1753.

No Pankaj ji
I was wrong, probably because the above two posts had chinensis instead of correct chinense. My epithet had to be different from specific epithet of Polygonum, so I repeated the mistake.

It should be Persicaria chinensis (L.) H. Gross, as Tabish ji writes.

I am downloading H.Gross's, Botanische Jahrbücher für Systematik,
Pflanzengeschichte und Pflanzengeographie. Lets see whats there
inside. Though it is in german, will have to do some hard work finding
as it is not on page 269.
By the way, usually the name shouldnt change, unless there is an issue
of latin gender.

I checked H.Gross's reference and he has mentioned the name as
chinensis. No reasons provided, but I failed to understand that the
reasons were obvious. It was stupid of me.
The main reason was change in GENDER from PolygonUM to PersicariA,
hence chinensIS was changed to chinensE.

Pankaj
