Dear Dipak Bhai,
Importance of Trees in Conservation of Birds- One day seminar attended in Baroda by J.K. Tiwari , S.N. Varu. Nilendu Thakkar and Guide Reserchers Bhuj

J.K. Tiwari presented a paper - promoting bird conservation by large scale tree plantation.

One day seminar was held on 13 th Sept 2009 at M.S. University Baroda - The seminar was organised by the Bird Conservation Society of Gujarat (BCSG) in support with the Department of Zoology, Dr. Geeta padate and Dr. Devkar extended full help in the Seminar.

Dr. Bakul Trivedi, Dr. B.M. Parasharya of BCSG also presented their work in the seminar.
GUIDE -Reserchers presented a poster in the seminar -on Gando Baval and birds in Banni.
Nilendu Thakkar of Anjar had presented a poster on importance of Mangrove (Cheriya ) in conservation of birds.

The Out come of this one day seminar (mosly attended by you Scientist/students =300 people) was to grow more and more native trees to support the birdlife and to make the area around us livable, green and pollution free.

Trees like Piloodi. Liyar, Goras Amli, Kerad, Deso Baval, Gorad, Khati Amli, Neem, vad, etc. not only make the surrounding green, provide us Oxygen, shade, but provide the food to birds.

Many people are planting trees, many industries are doing plantation but which species and where to plant is important. Aims of everybody is good. Let us increase  numbers of Tree planters so that the enemies of trees get defeated.

J.K. tiwari
