Research Assistant position with Centre for Ecological Sciences (Prof. Sukumar’s lab), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Karnataka, India

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated botanist for our research on dry forest ecology at Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. Candidate should have a master’s degree in botany or agriculture or life sciences. Basic computer knowledge is necessary. Understanding of Kannada or Tamil is desirable. He/She should be willing to work in Mudumalai and bear with field conditions. This is largely teamwork and the applicant is expected to work along with the team. Remuneration and other facilities will be in accordance with IISc rules and regulations.

Job description:
CES has established permanent vegetation plots and phenology transects. Selected candidate should assist the team in collection of field data and primary management of data in the field. He/she is expected to discharge other responsibilities in due course.

Placement will be at the field station in Masinagudi (town near Mudumalai Tiger Reserve).
