Subject: Request for participation in a survey
To: jmg...@gmail.com

Dear Mr. Garg,

I am currently working at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore. I am involved in a project in which we are asking as many Indians as possible what they think are the important questions that need to be answered for the management and conservation of biodiversity, ecosystems and natural resuources. We would like to reach as many people as possible. One of the motivations for this survey is that we don't know if there is a gap between what policy makers, funding agencies and researchers think is important and what the rest of the country thinks is important.

Below is the text which has information and links about the survey. I kindly request you to participate in this survey. I also request you to forward it to the eflora group. This group is such an active forum and it will be important to have the participation of all its members in this exercise.

With thanks and regards,
Vinatha Viswanathan.
NCBS, Banglore.

Horizon Scanning India - 10 Question Survey

----------------------------------------------------------------
You can help in shaping future research and priorities in the field of nature conservation. India's biodiversity and ecosystems are in decline, with consequences for human welfare and quality of life. Conservation needs to take into account the concerns of everyone who will be affected. Your participation is important.

We invite you to participate in the Horizon Scanning India - 10 questions survey.

You will be asked to provide up to 10 questions on what you think scientists need to answer to address present and future concerns regarding biodiversity, ecosystems and natural resources in India.

You do not need to be an expert in any of these fields to take part.
