Dear Friend,
According to Dr Salim Ali,Pied Crested Cuckoo ( Megha Papiha ),is a messanger of monsoon. The bird reaches India from Madagascar just before the arrival of monsoon.Call of this bird is high pitched crescendo.Once you have heard the call you are sure monsoon is about to reach. This bird raises family in the Sub continent and leaves just before winter.Attaching two images of the bird taken today. You may like these.

I do hope you will join us in tracking this beautiful bird!

With best wishes,
Suhel

PS. My apologies to the list for posting off-topic; but perhaps the
connection can be made like this: Pied Cuckoo announces the monsoon,
monsoon is the growing season for many plants, hence the Pied Cuckoo
is somewhat relevant to efloraofindia.
