Spotted near Trijuginarayan - uttarakhand - milky white flowers with yellow pollen - very nice to look at. On small shrubs  at raodside. Flower around 2 inch in dia.

Yes, Dr Chauhan is correct, this is Paeonia emodi - the only peony known from the Himalaya proper.  I first came across this near Pahlgam, Kashmir.
I have a good set of images of these in cultivation in the Kohli Memorial Botanical Garden in the UK, which I intend to post at some point.
