Please help to id this garden plant taken at Bryants park, Kodaikanal.

Muthuji, This is Rhododendron pulchrum, native of China, commonly called Pink Azalea (Family: Ericaceae). The flowers show beautiful dark pink specks and the flower can be eaten, and it is slightly sour.

Thank you all for helping in identifying this plant.
This i got to found as Rhododendron indicum (L.) Sweet from http://tropicos.org/Name/50060753 and other websites.  Syn. of Rhododendron pulchrum. This shrub is native of East-asiatic regions. Am I right?

I hope Sidduji, might have saw this at Hong Kong.

You missed it partly According to Tripicos.org link indicated by you Rhododendron pulchrum is synonym of R. indicum var. pulchrum and not simply R. indicum.

According to Kew Plant list R. pulchrum (syn: R. indicum var. pulchrum) is an accepted name and not a synonym
