Dear all,

please help to id this wetland herb found in moist soil.


Date/Time-	10-02-2011 / 11:00 AM
Location- Place, Altitude, GP	river-shore in Satyamangalam RF; TN. c 350 msl
Habitat- Garden/ Urban/ Wild/ Type-	wild, wetland
Plant Habit-	Prostrate herb
Height/Length-	c. 15 cm
Leaves Type/ Shape/ Size-	c. 3 X 0.5 cm; obtuse tip
Inflorescence Type/ Size-	solitary
Flowers Size/ Colour/ Calyx/ Bracts-	pinkish; 0.6cm across
Fruits Type/ Shape/ Size Seeds-
Other Information like Fragrance, Pollinator, Uses etc.-

... could it be related to OR species of Portulaca ?

Hi,
Leaves do give an impression of Portulaca, can it be Bacopa monnieri
(Brahmi) Scrophulariaceae, though the flowers here look bigger.

Yes, this is Bacopa monnieri. 'Neer Brahmi' in Tamil.
