To me, it looks like a hybrid of Sunflower, Helianthus annus.

Should be Helianthus annuus L. (Asteraceae)
The epithet spelling is annuus from annual.

Yes 
Helianthus comes from two Greek words helios “sun” +anthos “flower”

annuus is also Greek word for “year” which refers to annual growth form
