Please check species of Abrus of Fabaceae family. Most probably  Abrus precatorius.
I wish to see picture of leaves if you have the same.

Giby

Or, it may be Indigofera tinctoria.

Hi,

I not think it is Arbus precatorius as I have the creeper in my garden. This was a tallish shrub with hardly any leaves.

Giby'ji,

Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately the pictures I have do not show the leaves clearly. Will need to try and get fresh ones when I travel that way again. Once the plant stops flowering it blends in with the rest of the greenery in the forest and becomes difficult to distinguish!

Regards,
Devi.

Thank you. I think that's right as the picture I saw on the net is very similar.

Devi

Dear All

Kindly Check with Indigofera cassiodes. It is often leafless when flowering.

I think Kottaimuthu got it correct. Further, Vijay's guess was correct. The leaves in the background (kind of leafless condition) had given an impression of Abrus. Thanks to Vijay and Kottaimuthu for correcting me.

Kindly note the spelling  Indigofera cassioides DC. syn: Indigofera pulchella Roxb.
