Just a thought

Hello,

My recent interaction on this group made me feel that people take comments made while identifying plants personally. This practise is in my view quite unhealthy as anyone can be incorrect in identification. People should not have this attitude that a comment made is a personal attack on them. We all are matured individuals and should take comments made on our post in the similar manner as we expect others to take our comments.

I fully agree with you. In fact I make it a point to intervene. I think all of us should help in restricting this practice, but of course in a polite way. The harmony in the group is of prime importance.

I am in complete agreement with you Sir. If people havent got he maturity to accept that they may be incorrect then they shouldnt become a part of public groups. I have been a part of this group for long but they way things are developing n this group i no longer feel like interacting. Hope the atmosphere will become once again as it was.

I agree that some new members some times may behave in a manner, which is not normal for this group, but I don't agree that the general atmosphere in the group has suffered. It has to the contrary, improved a lot, thanks to the high standards set by some senior members in the group, and some new members who have shown a lot of maturity. We all have to play our role in ensuring that the members don't get provoked. None of us the right to suggest others whether they should join the group or not. We should just play our positive role. I have been often been commenting on this group. Don't stress your superiority. Let others judge. The problems always arise when you try to prove the other person wrong. 

     Mutual respect is key to the good atmosphere in the group.

I feel if someone identify wrongly, expert has to bring it to notice so that concern person can get accurate id of plant..wrong is wrong

There is nothing to take  personally,one should not take it  wrongly,its not stressing superiority... 

we should learn from superior, expert...

 superior person will always remain superior..

expert becomes expert bcoz of his/her intelligence, dedication and hard work... 

we should always accept it, appreciate and learn from them...

and be friendly with every one in group:):)

There is no harm in pointing out the mistake, provided it is done with politeness and mutual respect. No one can claim to be 100 percent correct. So it is always good to just give your suggestion and leave it to others to analyse. We should  learn from what is good for all and smooth functioning of the group.

Let me clarify,I have never tried to stress my superiority over anyone cos i strongly believe that all of us can be wrong. Do not take my comment as a personal attack on someone or that i am trying to show down anyone. That is not my habit and that is not wht i was thought.

Humility is wht makes a person a good human and not arrogance. Personal attacks are indicative of arrogance which i strongly oppose.
