Leaves ... please correct me if wrongly described.
Type : ¿ compund ? ... ¿ cleft ? margin, oppositely arranged.
Shape : ... please help here in letting know the shape.
Size : about 4 - 5 cm x 2.5 - 3 cm

Size : about 5 cm across

Shweta ji, am under the impression that Pimpinella tomentosa is an erect herb ... this one in the post is almost like a ground cover ... would such variation occur in P. tomentosa due to habitat ?

I had not taken sufficient photos of the leaves and other relevant aspects needed for ID.

The stem, the leaves in my photo does seem very much like suggested ID: Psammogeton diffusus (Roxb. ex Sm.) Rech.f. ex Pimenov syn. Seseli diffusum (Roxb. ex Sm.) G.Hend. & Hume 

Only concern is the distribution of this species in Maharashtra. It is found mainly in the Vidarbha region. Not yet recorded in Satara district, at least I am not knowing about it.

Let me also suggest this ID of Psammogeton diffusus at iNaturalist; hopefully gets validated from that end.

Yes Saroj ji, the plant is indeed distributed in Maharashtra, but in the Vidarbha region.

It is quite far from where this observation is.
