Heteropogon contortus, one of the major component species of grasslands amidst woodland savannah forests in Tiruvannamalai district, TN.
Do you know any interesting feature of this grass?

Yes sir, the charater of fruits, the twisted awns gets unwinded whilst contact with water. Is the latin name means this?
