Senna didymobotrya (Fresen.) H. S. Irwin & Barneby, Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 35:467. 1982

syn: Cassia didymobotrya Fresen.

Ornamental shrub producing candle like inflorescence similar to S. alata but quite distinct in smaller leaflets (3-6 cm as against 6-15 cm in S alata), petiole and rachis without ribs and wings, upper flower buds chocolate brown in colour and flat pods without any wings.

Planted along guest houses in Morni hill tract, photographed on April 9, 2011.

Dear Dr. Singh:
quite, interestingly the seed pods are very different....
even if the flowers may cause confusion in the first look... with s.
alata...

thanks... got to see S. alata seedpods this weekend....very different
from you pic number two.
thanks...

Dear Gurcharan Sir,
Thanks a lot for removing doubts I had for this plant. I actually
could not distinguish the two clearly distinct plants. Thanks again.
Regards,
