Hi Prasanna & Dr.Giby,
Agreed. Flowering generally occurs between August and October, but this year it commenced early in June and ended abruptly around the 3rd week of July. Sending a few photographs.
Please also check the archives of this group for my previous photographs of the leaves, flowers & fruit.
                          Regards,
                            Neil.

Neil ji,

Thank you very much for the valuable information. It seems that you are collecting a good data on phenology as well. That is great!

Thanks for sharing valuable information on the early flowering. Do you think that the early flowering is because of early onset of monsoon and good amount of summer showers.

Further, the series of pictures are very nice depicting most of the characters of the pretty climber. The amplexicaul leaves (leaves having lobes that completely surround the stem.) are clearly visible in the second and last pictures.

Regards,
Giby

Thanks Dr. Giby. You could be right. This year the monsoons arrived early and has been pretty heavy in the catchment areas with 3 of the 5 lakes supplying water to Bombay already overflowing.
Currently awaiting mass flowering of the Glory Lily [Gloriosa superba].
                  Regards,
                   Neil Soares.
