Yes, this should be Convolvulus arvensis, as Gurcharan ji says. One
arrow-shaped leaf base is visible in the lower left side.

Convolvulus arvensis is known as Hirankhuri in Hindi. Hiran means Deer and Khuri means toe. The leaf reminds of Hirankhuri.

It also reminds me of tasty cutlets served in Indian coffee houses having shape of Convolvulus leaves. I ate it few hours back.

Nice photo. But Morning Glory is such a common name . In fact I was
calling Ipomoea horsfalliae which has grown in my garden as Morning
Glory.Because the Nursery fellow told me the same name for this
flower. In fact I want to post the photo of this beautiful maroon
flower, but don't know how to post as there is no scope for attachment
in this link I suppose.

Also known as Kuhio-vine or Prince kuhio-vine.
Convolvulus arvensis is similarly wild morning glory

It doesn't look like I. pes-tigridis to me because the leaves not palmately lobed (as major portion of leaf seen in the pic), bracts not foliaceous and flowers not white.

It does look like Argyreia.

Hello,

I don't know at this point what the species in question is but I
would opine that it is not
any type of Convolvulus because the stigma is visible and not of the
Concolvulus type...not Ipomoea pes-tigridis.

I don't see it as any type of annual as hair present on the outside of
the corolla is much more typical of evolutionarily older perennial
species...and from an evolutionary point of view the Argyreia is the
closet guestimate so far....

Hope my impressions are of some value...

regards,

Ron

P.S. - I just located an older thread here
https://groups.google.com/group/indiantreepix/browse_thread/thread/eaa37c44806d100d?hl=en
which contains a plant which looks like a match except for the flower
size although other features such as leaves and calyx features look to
be the same...therefore I would suggest that the species that is the
subject of this thread is either Argyreia capitiformis or something
very closely related to A.capitiformis..

regards,

Ron
