Dear All:


Family:                 Malvaceae

Subfamily:                    Dombeyoideae

Genus:                                 Dombeya   Cav.

Species:                                             Dombeya wallichii

                                                                         Dombeya wallichii Benth. et Hook.f.

Synonym:     (= Astrapaea wallichii Lindl.)



A native of Madagascar , this is popular in India, we have two very closely places  plants in the hort.. I see these starting to bloom in January.. flowers of India site says  march thru may… may be regional difference, by that time our Kolkata flowers are at their tail end..



Colloquial names:    Pink-ball,    "Tropical Hydrangea"

I have seen these flowers (Dombeya wallichii) today (24 SEP 2022) at few places on one tree at Lal Bagh, Bengaluru. At many places I had noted the inflorescence was dried. 
This information I wanted to contribute regarding flowering season.
