Dear Friends,
 
This is yet another prostrate herb with very tiny flower spreading like a carpet near Chatadu (11500ft altitude approx.).
 
Date/Time: 29-09-2010 / 12:50PM
Location: Near Village Chatadu (11500 ft altitude approx.)
Habitat: Wild
Plant Habit: Herb

A Caryophyllaceae member
Arenaria or Gypsophylla

The few linear leaves visible and a stipulat sheath below and slight purplish tinge in flowers suggests Spergularia rubra. The petals are also broader like Spergula/Spergularia.

Though it is unusual to find this species at this altitude, but incidently I found both species in your photograph (trifoliate Trifolium repens and Spergularia rubra) growing together here also in California.
