Dear HS,
The crux of my posts with the subject line having words
Names of Plants in India is validating the names.
The photos put in such posts are not for querying ID.
Am quite comfortable with
Smithia setulosa.
This photo indeed shows large handsome flower of
Smithia setulosa, about 15 - 20 mm across.
All aspects about this plants are larger in comparison to other species of
Smithia found in northern Western Ghats.
The full grown plant stands about 1 - 1.5 m tall, with large compound leaves, the leaflets as large as compound leaves of the other 2 species.
Both
S. hirsuta and
S. bigemina are smaller plants, less than a metre high.
Cannot rule out a mistake by showing a wrong photo while documenting names; please do alert me.
