FaceTime On Physical Ethernet Connection

Does facetime on mac machine works with ethernet connection?

Can anyone test and revert.

No it needs internet access because it connects to the Apple server.

But my question is, does it needs only wi-fi or it can be run on ethernet connection for mac machines. iPod and iPhone should b on wi-fi.

Without wi-fi on physical internet connection.

Oh yes. Of course it can use ethernet connections but the network must have a gateway to the internet. If the iphones and ipod touch are connected to a closed network of a LAN without access to the internet it won’t work.
