I have got Debian Linux 6.0 in one of our client's PC.
Currently they are using a Xerox Printer/Copier/Scanner which doesnt have a linux driver.
This device can be used only through windows PCs
Is it possible to get a driver for this.

Or else if i am purchasing a new printer to support the Debian machine
please suggest a printer supporting Debain Linx 6

with thanks and regards

Hi Tanzeem
Xeroz and Cannon devices are the bad choice for linux enviornment, HP,Brother are good choices
I prefer HP, so far all the printer which I have come across from HO worked seamlessly . HP has opensource initiative for supporitn its devices

Very true. But, nowadays, I think most Samsung printers are also supported. One tends to see the Tux along with the Windoze logo on them. However, the best thing is to check the url given above before buying a printer. When using GNU/Linux, "always check supported devices before buying any" will be good advice.

Best,
Sasi

I had a Xerox Laser Printer and the suppliers said that it's driver is compatible with Samsung Printers. So I was able to configure it successfully. May be you could check with the technical support.
