Pidgin not able to connect....

Hi All,

I am a newbie to linux and using Linux Mint 7 on my laptop. When I
configured Pidgin Internet Messenger for new proxy settings it gives
an error in connection saying 'HTTP port forbidden'.
Please help me on this matter and let me know if there are any
additional settings needed to be configured other than proxy settings
given on Proxy login page.

port 3128 and ur IP or alternatively pass ur entire distribution thru proxy by

editing network proxy in system-->preferences
