ICAT collaboration meeting - 28/10/2021

Present: Christopher (STFC), Metthew (STFC), Louise (STFC), Alexander (STFC), Tom, Rolf (HZB), Daniel (ALBA), Marjolaine (ESRF) and Andy (ESRF)

(o) New organisation - rotating role for organising meetings, ESRF will organise the meetings for the next 6 months

(o) Merge requests - need to review changes, need reviewers, then we can fix a date

(o) Components update:

	(o) py-icat - Matthew added support for functions, Rolf could make a release immediately but there is another request to have support for OR
	              STFC can wait for the OR function. Rolf might get 0.20 released tomorrow (if possible)

	(o) ids - no activity

	(o) icat-* - no updates since Stuart

	(o) containerisation - Alexander reported most of the components are containerised with Docker 

	(o) ALBA - tested Rolf's containerised image but did not succeed completely

(o) ExPaNDS ontologies - Rolf informed the techniques ontologies which need to be implemented in the metadata catalogues, 

		TODO: organise a dedicated meeting to discuss this

(o) Search API - federated search API was discussed, ESRF brought up the limitations with the current API, Matthew has started designing it based on the Data Gateway search API
	         Matthew has commented the issue https://github.com/ral-facilities/datagateway-api/issues/265#issuecomment-950761511

		TODO: all those interested to comment on this issue, organise a special meeting on the Search API in ICAT

		Next meeting of WP3 will discuss the Search API on 12/11 @ 11:00

(o) ESRF - all data for the Human Organ Atlas has been ingested into ICAT@ESRF and is ready to go live  on the 4/11 @ 10:00, 
           almost all data can be downloaded via globus now using ESRF login or ORICD/Google for open data, 
	   a new colleague is arriving in November to work on sample handling in ICAT+

(o) HZB - Rolf reported that the e-logbook has had success and there are new requests for using it

(o) ALBA - some users have tested the

(o) DLS - currently in shutdown, next major change is putting the Data Gateway in production

(o) ISIS - in a long shutdown until end of the year, discussions on-going about Data Gateway

(o) ELI ERIC - is a new site which could be interested in these meetings

(o) e-logbook - HZB asked if e-logbook could be deployed in the Data Gateway? 
	        Louise was not sure how much work this represents but as there has been no request for this so far it is not planned

(o) mail-in - HZB said the new efforts on remote sample handling (mail-in) should be present to the STARS project
