to hugin and other free panoramic software
Hi all,

I've been doing some thinking, and given that I'm currently based in
the US, and so is Sourceforge, I decided I don't want to distribute
software with patent issues anymore. Certainly not with my name on it.

I changed the cpg-less version to default on sourceforge and removed
the version with autopano-sift-c. If somebody wants to build and host
a version of 2009.02 or 04 or newer setups with autopano-sift-c
outside of the USA, I'll be happy to assist by sharing my knowledge of
how to build the setup, but please don't redistribute the versions
with my name on them.

This is not for moral reasons, I think it is perfectly moral to leave
the decision with the users, it's a legal issue. Even if you don't ask
money for it I am not sure distributing is legal. Of course my
removing these files still leaves copies of sift-based programs on the
US-based site. The whole issue has been discussed many times before
and I won't go over it again. I made a personal decision about the
files I uploaded, others have different situations and make their own
decisions.

I hope somebody can come up with a patent-free control point detector
soon, even if it performs worse than the current ones. It would be so
much cleaner.

A new test version of the 2009.04 installer is available from my site.
The previous one is removed.
